Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk and Mykhailo Romanchuk have become parents. The joyful news was shared by the World Championship silver medalist in the long jump and triple jump on her social media accounts.

On February 13, a baby girl was born to the well-known Ukrainian athletes.

“13.02.2026

3150 g / 51 cm of pure happiness,” Maryna wrote, posting a touching photo of her newborn daughter’s tiny hand in her palm.

The baby is the couple’s first child. The athletes had previously admitted that they had long dreamed of expanding their family, though it had not worked out for some time. Last year, Bekh-Romanchuk revealed that she learned about her pregnancy at the same time she received news of her suspension from competition.

Maryna and Mykhailo first met at the European Youth Olympic Festival. Their relationship officially began in 2016 at the Summer Olympics 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, where the young athletes met again — marking the start of their romantic story.

The decorated athletes have been married since 2018. Together, they have competed at three Olympic Games — in Rio, Tokyo, and Paris. Romanchuk won silver and bronze medals in swimming at the Tokyo Olympics.
